Today’s self-care was made possible by the recent change the US Postal Service made with regard to delivering mail on Sundays.
I woke up today to a package on my doorstep. I opened the package and took out my new self-care products:
Excited, I got right to work!
After I’d doodled two zentangles, I noticed Middle had fallen into the pit of dysregulation. Since she loves to create art and color, I wrote a note on the back of one zentangle card and asked her to color it.
I worried she’d miss the note on the back, but of my hypervigilant Middle immediately flipped the card over and saw the note before she’d added even a smidgen of color to it!
And then, the most marvelous thing happened.
I left the room and when I returned, I found this waiting for me:
Middle made three tangles for me over the course of the day, each with a sweet little note. One even said, “I’m so glad you are my mama! You’re the best!”
Guess I am doing something right around here, after all!
What did you do for self-care today?
