I’ve been running a giveaway contest for the last two weeks and I’m sure you’re all waiting to hear whether or not you won the prize (a Kindle tablet from Amazon). Check your email now – I’ve notified the winner and am waiting to hear back from you before making the big announcement!
It’s Valentine’s Day. Yet another holiday that can be hard for our kids who experienced real, raw, and recurrent heartbreak at an early age.
Today, I’m thankful that my kids have undergone enough healing that we were all able to enjoy celebrating love as a family.
They’re not trying to kill each other (or me)!
No one is crying!
I haven’t lost my you-know-what over anything!
In fact, as I write this, both of my kids with trauma histories are sitting next to me – working on building a Minecraft world together.
Together, you guys! Without screaming and yelling at each other or yanking the controller out of each other’s hands!
This is a far cry from my previous experiences as a Trauma Mama on Valentine’s Day. I hope you all are having a good day, too… And if you’re not, I hope that you get a chance to do something for you today (and your spouse if you have one! Someone else you care about if you don’t!).
And if everything about today has been horrible and hard, look on the bright side… The next major (American) holiday is months away!
